From a single Czechoslovak-made vehicle in 1993 to 80 trucks serving European routes, COMEXTRANS has earned its reputation through three decades of disciplined growth. Co-owner Rudolf Holba’s recipe: constant improvement, a young fleet (average age 2.9–3.1 years), and technology investments including Eurowag’s dispatch system, telematics, and planned EVA toll integration.

Slovakia’s commercial road transport entered 2025 under fragile conditions. H1 2025 freight volumes slipped 7.5% in tonnes and 9.4% in performance. New truck registrations fell ~16%. On 1 July 2025, Slovakia introduced CO₂-based toll classes, creating significant costs for unprepared operators.
Serving engineering and automotive clients with 50 curtain-side and 30 refrigerated trailers, COMEXTRANS faces 40% toll increases, rising fuel costs, and regulatory burden. The company provides logistics services from a 300-sqm facility and vehicle/tire services alongside core transport.
COMEXTRANS relies on Eurowag for a dispatch system that Holba describes as “more flexible and also cheaper than the system we used before.” The company is planning EETS toll transition using Eurowag’s EVA on-board units. Eurowag’s fuel network supports refueling across the Czech Republic. Telematics integration tracks empty mileage and optimizes routes.
Fleet averages 2.9–3.1 years with 10–12 vehicles replaced annually. All vehicles are Euro 6 or Euro 5 EEV; international transport uses exclusively Euro 6. Photovoltaics are installed at facilities. Refrigerated trailers were completely replaced with the most efficient Chereau models two years ago.
Holba: “We definitely have to prepare for increased competition. To succeed, we need fewer empty miles, innovation, and investment in vehicles.” CNG and HVO have been explored but lack economic viability without Slovak incentives. Focus remains on fleet modernization, driver support, and service expansion.

Stop juggling multiple toll systems. With a single EETS-certified OBU, you handle toll payments automatically, accurately and with every cost under control.
