Eurowag enables its customers to pay national tolls in 11 European countries via a single EETS system, with a single on-board unit, in a post-payment mode. During May, EVA will cover Bulgaria and Switzerland.
Prague, 28 April 2025 - Easier toll payment without the need to find additional on-board units and to settle tolls separately for each country is the goal of the European Electronic Toll System (EETS). It works in most European countries, and is a useful service for freight operators who regularly travel through at least two countries.
Eurowag, as one of the registered EETS providers, allows 11 European countries to be crossed on its EVA on-board unit and paid for in a single monthly invoice. Customers can use a single device from a single partner for all pan-European toll payments. This solution enables toll payments in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, as well as Sweden and Denmark, and soon also in Switzerland and Bulgaria.
"When switching from a national toll payment solution to a single European On-Board Unit, we arrange delivery of the EVA unit to the designated address, installation and use is immediate and hassle-free," says Ivana Lang, Director of Toll at Eurowag.
What are all the benefits of an EVA unit? All toll payments are made in a post-payment mode, so that the journey takes place first and only later the payment itself. The unit provides free fuel fraud protection as well as a free integrated fleet management package.
EVA fundamentally simplifies toll billing. All invoices for individual countries and toll sections are collected in one place and a single payment is made for the billing period. There is no need to prepay anything in advance. Eurowag guarantees free delivery of EVA units within three working days. If a haulier is concerned about the transition to the new single European unit, they can contact the Eurowag support centre and their representatives will take care of everything.
