Better Ways to Protect Health at Work: What We Learned from Loono’s Screenings at Eurowag

We at Eurowag believe in Better Ways—better ways to move goods, empower communities, and care for our people. That’s why we partnered with Loono, a Czech non-profit that’s reshaping how we think about preventive healthcare in the workplace.

Better Ways to Protect Health at Work: What We Learned from Loono’s Screenings at Eurowag

Through workshops and on-site screenings, Loono has helped thousands of people detect health risks early, often in the very places where they work. Their mission aligns closely with ours: to bring optimism, progress, and purpose to everyday life. In short, Better Ways.

We spoke with the Loono team to better understand today’s biggest workplace health risks, and how companies like Eurowag can play a key role in long-term prevention.

Finding Better Ways to Stay Healthy.

Loono’s work is rooted in science. They base their programs on data from the World Health Organization, the Czech Ministry of Health, and peer-reviewed medical journals. Combined with hands-on experience from more than 120 companies every year, their findings are clear:

The most common health risks in the workplace include:

  • Cardiovascular disease — from smoking, poor diet, obesity, and inactivity
  • Cancer — often due to missed screenings and delayed diagnoses
  • Mental health struggles — stress, burnout, and low awareness of symptoms
  • Back and neck pain — driven by sedentary work and poor ergonomics

We don’t accept that these risks are just “part of the job.” We believe there are Better Ways—and that starts with awareness and action.

When Prevention Works, Lives Change.

Changing habits is hard—but awareness can be life-changing. Loono sees this every day.

  • At health days hosted by companies, dermatologists detect suspicious moles in 15% of participants.
  • 15,000+ now regularly perform self-checks for skin, breast, or testicular cancer.
  • Over 200      people have had serious cancer diagnosed early, thanks to a Loono activity or resource.

Each one of these stories represents more than a number. They’re proof that there are Better Ways, and that they work.

Real People. Real Impact.

Loono’s work is full of powerful human stories. One woman attended a Loono workshop, then performed a self-exam on her partner. She found a lump—it turned out to be testicular cancer, caught just in time.

Another: a grandmother learned from her granddaughter how to check for breast cancer. She found a tumor and got treated early.

These are not just stories of survival. They’re stories of connection, care, and the ripple effect of knowledge. And they reflect exactly what Better Ways means to us: putting people first and giving them the tools and knowledge to thrive.

Reaching the Right People, at the Right Time.

Loono has found that not all groups engage equally in preventive care:

  • Women aged 40–64 are the most consistent participants.
  • Young adults and men aged 25–44 are the least likely to seek preventive care.

This insight helps us target the people who need support the most, because Better Ways means making sure no one is left behind.

Post-COVID, a Shift in Mindset.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, interest in health topics has grown, especially around stress, sleep, and movement. Loono now offers flexible formats, from live workshops to online webinars, so employers can bring prevention directly to their teams in a way that works for them.

This kind of flexibility reflects our core values. We don’t settle for generic solutions, we look for Better Ways that work for our people and make the biggest impacts.

Healthier Teams, Stronger Companies.

According to the Czech National Action Plan for Mental Health, supporting well-being in the workplace can reduce productivity loss by up to 30%. That’s not just good for business, it’s essential for building a company culture rooted in care.

Because Better Ways isn’t a tagline. It’s a promise to our team members, our partners, and our purpose.

What People Want to Know?

When it comes to health education, these are the most in-demand topics in the workplace:

  • Cancer prevention
  • Mental health support

Online, topics like safe sex, fertility, and personal health autonomy also resonate—especially with younger demographics.

What We’ve Learned from Loono.

Loono’s work with more than 120 companies each year has shown that:

  • Knowledge gaps are extremely common, even among educated employees.
  • Leadership support is critical—when leaders care, people show up.
  • One-off events are not enough—ongoing support is key.
  • Authenticity drives engagement—people respond to real stories and real people.
  • Digital tools make it easier—especially for remote or hybrid teams.

These insights inspire how we build wellness initiatives at Eurowag, and how we keep looking for Better Ways to support our teams.

Eurowag. Better Ways.

Our belief is that progress starts with people. From our drivers on the road to our teams in the office, we’re committed to creating an environment where health and well-being are not just encouraged, but empowered.

Because one early diagnosis, one workshop, or one act of care can change everything.

Better Ways means we don’t wait for problems, we prevent them.
Better Ways means putting people first.
Better Ways means making every journey—on the road and in life—a little safer, a little healthier, and a lot more hopeful.
