Portuguese international road freight declined 14% in 2024. Carriers need fuel pricing reliability, cash-flow visibility, and administrative simplification. Transmarsil operates from the Algarve with strong routes to the Netherlands and other European markets.
With 80 heavy vehicles (average age 5.6 years) handling general cargo and temperature-controlled goods, Transmarsil needed digital fleet data integration, strict tachograph management, and process automation to reduce admin workload during fuel price volatility.
Commercial Assistant César Silva: “Eurowag’s fuel cards gave us exactly what we needed in a volatile semester: reliable pricing, cashless payments across Europe, and consolidated invoices in one place. That combination reduced admin time, improved cash-flow visibility and helped us keep costs under control trip by trip.” The spend data provides a foundation for planned AI-based route planning and cost analysis.
€11m revenue and €1.2m net profit in 2024. Telematics and digital tachographs fully integrated. The company operates the Algarve’s first heavy-vehicle wash recovering 80% of water used.
Electric trucks, bio-LNG, and HVO are under medium-term consideration. Silva expects greater regulatory pressure and intensified digitalization: “Data analysis will be a key source of competitive differentiation.”
