Eurowag is the first European electronic toll service provider in the Czech Republic

Eurowag's EETS-certified on-board unit enables toll payments in six European countries, now including Czech motorways and first-class roads.

Eurowag is the first European electronic toll service provider in the Czech Republic

Prague, March 1, 2023 - Eurowag, a leading provider of integrated road transport solutions in Europe, has received European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) certification for Czech motorways and first-class roads. This makes Eurowag one of the first EETS providers in the Czech Republic. In practice, this means that a single Eurowag on-board unit can be used to pay tolls in the Czech Republic, five other European countries and at selected bridges and tunnels.

Thanks to the new EETS certification, the Czech Republic joins Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Austria and Poland as of 1 March 2023 - in all of these countries, toll payments can be made simply via Eurowag's EVA on-board unit. A single on-board unit (OBU) solution for multiple countries makes it easier for hauliers to operate and manage their fleets, simplifies the work and operation of OBUs for drivers, and also increases safety on the road - fewer OBUs on the windscreen leave more space for the driver to see and offers the possibility to have everything in one client portal.

The EVA solution - not just carefree toll payment

Eurowag's EVA on-board unit offers additional services in addition to EETS certification and related toll payments. The solution includes integrated fleet management tools such as vehicle route planning and tracking, remote tachograph downloads, driver behaviour analysis and the patented FuelGuard geolocation technology, which is completely free of charge for clients. The EVA on-board solution thus provides fleet owners with cost savings and data to manage their business efficiently, saves dispatchers time with intuitive fleet management software and increases driver safety as the on-board unit itself checks for exceeding legal driving time limits and can even monitor unsafe driving habits.

Those interested in an EETS-certified EVA OBU need only complete a vehicle-specific registration and select the countries in which they want to activate the electronic toll collection service. The EVA OBU is usually delivered within 3 working days of ordering. For existing Eurowag customers, activating EETS for the Czech Republic is even easier - just visit the Eurowag client portal and edit the details for specific vehicles in the relevant user account.

The European Electronic Toll Service system enables hauliers and their drivers to travel easily and seamlessly across EU countries. The rapid integration of electronic toll payments in the Czech Republic into our integrated solution was therefore a priority for us - after all, the Czech Republic is our home market. Moreover, the number of countries where tolls can be paid via the EVA on-board unit will increase in the future. We are already working on the integration of toll payments in Slovakia and deferred toll payments on invoice for Hungary.
