As all of you will know, trucks must pay a toll on motorways, highways, and/or main roads in the vast majority of European countries. We thought it would be nice to show you how far you would be able to drive with just EUR 100 within some of the most expensive toll roads in Europe.
Tolls are different from one country to another and can cost typically from 6 to more than 50 euro cents per kilometre, depending on the country and the type of truck (euro emission class, weight, number of axles). We thought it would be nice to show you how far you would be able to drive with just EUR 100 within some of the most expensive toll roads in Europe.
The most expensive roads to drive in Europe are by far Mont Blanc and Frejus tunnels crossing the Alps mountains, due to the cost of the infrastructure, with prices for a 5 axles EURO V truck going as high as 19 EURO per km.
Straight after the tunnels, we have to look at Slovenia, where prices per km range at around about 0,508 EUR per km.
How to save money on Toll – we’ve got you covered
Saving money on Toll is a hard task. This is why by registering with Eurowag, you can be rest assured that you will benefit from the highest possible discount in each and every country where discount is applicable.
For instance, in Italy, you can benefit from the Eurowag consortium which will offer you the highest discount offered by the Italian Government. In principle, this can go up to 13% multiplied by the highest bonus ratio of 2.5, so in total potentially 32.5% of discount depending on the Italian Ministry decision.
In France, you will be able to get discount up to 13%, and in Spain, under certain conditions, discounts and rebates can reach an astonishing 50% depending on the motorway operator. Same applies to the Frejus and Mont Blanc tunnels we’ve mention above, and for Czech Republic and Slovakia.
